Teen Mom Returns to MTV

The ever-popular TV series "Teen Mom" returns this week for a third season and the story lines continue to unfold.

One of the stars, Maci Bookout, discusses her difficulty obtaining child support from the father, Ryan Edwards. It appears as though Edwards stopped making his payments when he started to receive unemployment from the government. In one scene, Bookout asks her friend, "Hey, can you get me a new baby-daddy?" She goes on to explain that after 45 days of non-payment, Edwards could be booked and taken to jail.

The show ends with Maci learning that the father of her child was in fact making the payments, but her bank made an error when crediting her account.

When the court orders you to make child support payments, you are legally obliged to do so. If you are in a situation where you cannot make payments due to economic hardship, you need to call a family law attorney now. Rather than risk being thrown in jail for delinquent child support payments, a family law attorney may help you avoid jail time by explaining your current financial situation to a judge.
