Man Gets Child Custody with Help from Facebook

A man from Dallas, TX was able to win primary child custody with the help of some Facebook photos. The father had long suspected his ex-wife and her current boyfriend of not properly caring for his five year old son, but was not sure how to prove this to the court. His attorney Michael Wysocki was able to obtain months of photos from Facebook and other social media sites to help him win the case.

What he found was photos of the mother scantily clad, partying hard, and in one instance, another woman was pretending to lick her breast. Other pictures showed her boyfriend with a semi-automatic rifle and smoking. Upon seeing these photos the ruling judge ordered the mother to take a drug test. She ultimately failed, and the father, who runs a construction company, was finally granted full custody.

This long-fought case was won primarily due to Wysocki's use of social media sites, a strategy that is being employed by more and more legal counsels across the country. Some legal experts believe that 20 percent of child custody cases now use some form of social media as part of their argument.
