Celebrity Dad Facing Domestic Violence Charges Again

The often-volatile father of a often-arrested actress - the father and daughter are both known best for their run-ins with the law - has been arrested in Florida for domestic violence, as reported by the Associated Press.

Police reported that they witnessed the man, M.L., 51, grab the arms of his girlfriend, K.M., 28, and push her down several times.  Police spokeswoman, Andrea Davis, said, "She had some redness on her arms, some minor bruising and it was determined that he grabbed her arm and threw her to the ground a couple of times."

The argument, that allegedly ran all day before erupting into a physical altercation, was partially due to K.M.'s plans to be in Sarasota County court that same day in another matter regarding M.L.

M.L. complained of having chest pains during the arrest, per police, and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.  Police stated that once at the hospital, M.L. tried to check out and leave without notifying police - which M.L. presumed had already left.

M.L. was swiftly caught and re-arrested.  At press time he was being held without bail at the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail.  He has not announced who will be his attorney.

To get away from the celebrity frenzy that often follows his daughter's every move, M.L. claimed, he made the move to Tampa.

Police received a domestic violence call early on Tuesday morning for K.M.'s Tampa residence.  After arriving at the condominium home, officers heard a woman's voice cry out "stop" and "leave me alone."

M.L. answered the door, sweating and out of breath.  The report said, "He immediately got defensive saying 'everything is OK and nothing happened here.'  The victim started yelling in the background for us to help her because he was lying."

K.M.'s injuries did not require any medical attention.  But, during the course of their argument, clothing and jewelry had been tossed haphazardly around the condo and there was a noticeable dent - approximately the same height as M.L.'s head - on a bathroom door.

K.M. allegedly told the police that M.L. had purposely struck his own head on the door - solely on the off chance that he would have to defend himself on a domestic violence charge.

If questioned, M.L. had planned on telling the police that K.M. had struck him.

K.M. also told police that what angered M.L. wasn't just the idea of her going to court - he was also infuriated by her refusal to perform oral sex.

Per police, K.M. had allowed M.L. into her condo on Sunday, and decided to let him stay.  Even though she had a temporary restraining order against him, the fateful hearing that she was due to appear at would be the deciding factor as to whether the temporary order would become a permanent one.

M.L. reportedly told the police that K.M. was not only his on-again girlfriend, but also, a soon to be announced fiancée.

A previous instance of domestic violence between the two occurred in Los Angeles.  The case was dismissed when K.M. didn't show up for trial.
