Man Takes Wife's Life

Double tragedy struck in north central Minnesota when a man took the life of his wife, then his own.

According to Park Rapids police chief Terry Eilers, the man's wife called for help. She had already filed for and been granted a restraining order against him but he was on her property and threatening to kill her. When the dispatcher heard loud noises in the background and then the line went dead, officers were quickly dispatched to the house.

When officers arrived on the scene they found the unresponsive bodies of the husband and wife. One of their sons told officers that the father had been holding a high-powered rifle and was threatening him as well. Officers initially took cover behind their van, uncertain as to whether the rifle was still being wielded by the husband.

If someone from your own family is threatening your safety, there is no time to waste in speaking with a family law attorney. You can get a restraining order against that person faster and more easily with an attorney at your side.
