The state Human Service Department in New Mexico has reported that it collected a record-setting amount of child support payments in the most recent budget year. According to reports, the collection of about $115 million is nearly 4% higher than the previous year. Roughly 60% of child support payments were made through withholdings of wages of parents. Furthermore, about 7% of child support collections came from unemployment benefits.
