Warrant Sweep Nabs 44 People for Failure to Pay

A warrant sweep in one county was successful in nabbing 44 individuals that are behind on child support payments. The sheriff's office wants to send a message that if you fail to make your payments, you could face criminal charges.

The sheriffs worked with the New Jersey Office of Child Support Services to obtain the information necessary to ask for warrants. Across the state officers worked to serve a total of 987 warrants, 44 of which were served in Middlesex County. It took three days to hunt down the individuals named on the warrants, a task that took dozens of officers.

Are you seriously behind on your child support payments? If so, you should speak with a family law attorney about your legal options as soon as possible. When you fall behind on your payments, you may face penalties such as jail time, so it is important to act quickly.
