Etheridge Claims Ex is USing Kids as Pawns

Many news outlets are reporting that Melissa Etheridge has accused her ex of using their twins as "pawns".  On July 6^th, Etheridge was supposed to have a visit with her kids in Boston, but instead she received a text message from her ex stating "My plans changed, sorry".  At that time, she also received the child custody filing.

For a long time, Tammy Lyn Michaels has argued that she is broke and that the singer refuses to support her kids.  However, Etheridge's lawyers told a judge last week that the singer has been giving Michaels $2,000 a month and has all been paying all of her household expenses. 

Still, Michaels insists that she wants an increase in spousal support and $4,300 a month for child support.  She listed her expenses as:

-          $6,000 for rent

-          $1,500 for groceries

-          $800 for eating out

-          $50 for laundry and cleaning

-          $5,000 for clothes

Last week, a judge rejected Michael's request for $25,000 to cover her attorney's fees as well as an additional request for $25,000 for daily living expenses.
