Officers on Look Out for Parents who Failed to Pay Child Support

Officers from the Oregon Department of Justice conducted a sweep of Multnomah County to search for parents who have chosen not to pay child support. This resulted in the arrest of fifteen people who had not made their court-ordered child support payments with the help of warrants for their arrest.

All of the people arrested during this sweep will have to spend up to six months in jail in addition to make their overdue payments. In order to help them make their payments, the Department of Justice has also created a website for those who need to collect or make payments. Oregon joins other states in the increasing desire to catch and punish those individuals who fail to make their child support payments.

When you need help collecting child support from a spouse or partner who is frequently delinquent, don't let another payment pass you by. Work with a family lawyer who can give you the legal muscle that you need.
