Arrest Occurs after Child Support Dispute

A discussion that was intended to be about child support payments turned into an arrest early Saturday morning in Middletown. The mother of Denielius Holley's child supposedly called him at 2:10 AM after leaving the club to discuss child support money in person. Holley, believing that their meeting would lead to a sexual encounter, agreed to meet with her.

While they were chatting Holley grabbed her cell phone and, noticing a phone call from her ex-boyfriend, proceeded to throw a cup of water at her and then struck her about the head and face four times. Police were called to the scene and arrested him, charging Holley with third degree assault. The woman was brought to Middlesex Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

At Holley's arraignment Judge Susan Handy issued a protective order that effectively denies him contact with the abused woman until further notice. He has agreed to collaborate with family services to work on the case against him.
