Boxer Pleads Guilty to Domestic Abuse

While you do not want to make anyone angry, the last person you want to upset is a former champion boxer. Yet, no matter how strong you are, there is no excused to beat up your wife.

A former heavyweight champion entered a plea of guilty for the charge of domestic violence filed against him in 2010. While it has taken that long for the case to go to court and be prosecuted, the boxer cannot stall any longer.

This month he is scheduled to turn himself in to the court to be jailed for 90 days. In exchange for entering the guilty plea, the former boxer was given a reduced sentence for his charges. While domestic violence charges do not always result in jail time, the man hit his ex-wife in front of their two children. This led to the 90 day jail sentence. If the boxer behaves himself in jail, he is likely to serve a reduced sentence.

Victims of domestic violence always need to protect themselves and should think about hiring a family lawyer in their area immediately.
