Alabama Cracking Down on Failure to Pay

Did you know that the about half of the parents in this country that are supposed to receive child support do not get their payments? In Mobile, Alabama, the state's statistics are just about even with the national average.

Thanks to the efforts of people with the Department of Human Resources in Alabama, more than $23 million was paid out last year to parents that were owed child support. While this figure may seem high, it was not large enough to provide support to all of the parents that needed it.

If you are a parent in Alabama that is having trouble obtaining child support from a former spouse/partner, you can seek help. The Department of Human Resources offers counseling for just $25. You can have all of your questions answered and be steered towards the right organizations/resources you need to finally get the funds you need to raise your children. And, if all else fails, you can always enlist the services of a family lawyer who can help you collect past due payments.
