Woman Surprised to Receive Past Due Child Support Payment

One woman was amazed when she finally received a check for child support that was long overdue.

The Akron woman was married to the father of her two children for ten years until they decided to get a divorce. Although he did make several child support payments when they first got divorced, the payments stopped coming in. For years the woman and her children lived on nearly nothing until she remarried. Even though she has been married to her second husband for 17 years, the prosecutor's office did not forget about her case.

Last week, the woman received a check for the amount owed to her from the first husband, a rather large amount, including interest on missed payments. Thanks to information gathered about the husband in the past and the present, the office was able to track him down and force him to make past due payment.

If you are owed child support, know that a family lawyer can be a great resource and help you seek past due payments.
