Massachusetts is reportedly considering ending lifetime alimony in the state. The state’s current law reportedly does not contain any limit on the length on how long alimony can be paid for. Massachusetts judges reportedly often award lifetime alimony for both short and long marriages. Most states have stopped lifetime alimony and now Massachusetts is considering the same. Alimony would now be awarded based on how long the marriage lasts.
