Hiding Assets during Divorce

If you are thinking about divorce and are worried that your spouse is hiding assets or money, there are some tell-tale signs that you can keep an eye out for.

Should there be a significant change in your spouse's assets, you need to be alert to this change and question it. No matter whether the assets increased or decreased rapidly, tell your family law attorney about any changes that you discover. This is especially true if your spouse's income seems to have become smaller over the last few months. In some cases individuals will attempt to defer their salary payments in order to keep them after the divorce.

If your spouse travels regularly overseas, be open to the idea that he/she may open a foreign account to hide money. And finally, if your husband or wife is giving out lavish gifts to friends and family, you need to question their behavior.

Going through a challenging divorce?  It is advised that you consult with a family lawyer as soon as possible.
