Maria Shriver Pursues Divorce

After much speculation since news of Arnold Schwarzenegger's infidelity broke, Maria Shriver has finally filed for divorce in California.

According to the divorce petition, Shriver cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their divorce, although the actual reasons have been coming to the surface for weeks now. It was a shock to learn that the couple of 25 years would end their marriage after presenting such a strong, solid face to their public together. It was no surprise, however, that Shriver would file for divorce after learning that her husband had fathered a child with their housekeeper ten years ago, and had kept it from her for as long.

The couple has two sons together, ages 13 and 17. The divorce petition requests joint legal and physical custody of the children. As far as property goes, Shriver will get to keep different jewelry and personal items, as well as any earnings made after their separation. It is not yet determined what will be done with their family home in Brentwood, but for now Shriver has moved out of the house and is living with her children elsewhere.
