Process Server Threatens Laura Dern Before Handing Over Divorce Papers

According to TMZ.com, on Saturday, a process server appeared at actress Laura Dern's home with divorce papers.  Allegedly, the server demanded that she come and open the door.

It is said that her husband, Ben Harper, filed for divorce late Friday afternoon and many sources report that the process server told Laura that if she did not come to her door, he'd find her out in public and try to embarrass her.

However, a source close to Harper has said that the process server rumors are false and that an ultimatum was never issued.  Media sources also say that Ben has not contacted Laura to discuss how they will tell their children about the ending of their marriage.  Instead, he supposedly just disappeared.

It has been said that the couple separated in January.  Yet, they appeared in public to attend Eddie Vedder's wedding just last month.

Going through a tough divorce?  Getting a divorce attorney involved may be your best option.
