11 Hour Standoff Results in Domestic Violence Arrest

An 11-hour standoff between a man and the police finally came to a close in Castle Rock on Saturday.

Trenton Orendorf, 40, has been accused of shooting his pregnant wife and committing other acts of domestic violence against her. Shannon Orendorf, 33, is three-months pregnant with their child.

Castle Rock police finally had to end the standoff with tear gas which has also affected their investigation of the crime scene. They cannot remain in the house for longer than fifteen minutes at a time.

At this time Orendorf is being held at the Douglas County Jail. Despite her injuries Shannon is in stable condition at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree.
