This time it is the general manager of a Major League team that is facing a publicized divorce. New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman will soon be responding to divorce papers filed by his wife. Cashman had already been embroiled in a scandal involving an alleged stalker. Last week a 36-year-old woman was charged with harassment and other charges pertaining to alleged attempts to blackmail him. She states that she did not try to extort money from the general manager by threatening to damage his reputation. She claims that an extramarital relationship she had with him turned sour and that is what spurred him to make the allegations of stalking and extortion. The day after charges were brought against the woman, Cashman's wife filed the divorce papers. He and his wife have reportedly been separated for over a year and there was no comment by the family in regard to the timing of the divorce filing.
