How Do You Make Changes in a Divorce Judgment?

By Claery & Green  Jan. 8, 2011 3:55p

With life's unexpected twists and turns, sometimes circumstances change and modifications to a divorce judgment have to be made. Various points may need addressing like child support or spousal support. If one's financial circumstances change making it impossible to keep the agreement laid out in the judgment, then a post judgment modification is in order. A person may have lost their job, been demoted or fallen ill requiring a change in  the original agreement. Child custody arrangements may have to be changed as well due to a parent having to relocate; all of this can be done with through the modification process. Modifications can include changes in:
  • Child custody and child support
  • Visitation arrangements
  • Spousal support
  • Other marital agreements
