Supermodel Seeks $46k a Month in Child Support from Billionaire

Model Linda Evangelista has gone to court seeking $46,000 a month in child support from actress Salma Hayek's husband, Francois-Henri "King of Luxury" Pinault, as reported by the ABC News, the New York Daily News and dozens of other mainstream media sites.

Pinault, the father of Evangelista's 5-year-old son, Augustin, is also heir to his family's $11.5 billion estate.

Towards the end of 2005 Pinault and Evangelista dated. By April of 2006, when Pinault had began dating Hayek, Evangelista was pregnant. Pinault married Hayek in 2009 and the two now have a child of their own, 4 year-old Valentina.

According to reporters, "Augie" requires 24 hour a day care, a driver and armed bodyguards. In February, a magazine article quoted Evangelista as saying that the money is needed "to protect him."

Reportedly, when queried by a judge as to the child's alleged need for full time care, Evangelista said, "When I work, it can be a 16-hour day. On days when I do not work, I am working on my image. I have to hit the gym. I have beauty appointments. I have to work toward my next job and maintaining my image, just like an athlete."

Raoul Felder, a famed divorce attorney, said of Evangelista's claims, "It's the triumph of illusion over reality. That's all this is, a fairy tale. If she were married to him, that's a whole other story."

Pinault does not agree with the skewed view of himself as a deadbeat dad. Of his time spent with his son Pinault said, "At every possible opportunity he has participated in my family life whether in France or the United States. He is totally integrated within my family."

Under French law Augie stands to inherit one-quarter of his father's estate.

Pinault, called the "King of Luxury" for his chief executive position of PPR, a conglomerate that counts Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci and Bottega Veneta among its clients, also owns homes in both Paris and Los Angeles.

It has been reported that the Pinault estate also owns Christie's auction house, Château-Latour vineyard in Bordeaux and French premiere league football team Stade Rennais.

Evangelista is worth $8 million. She also owns two properties: a penthouse in Manhattan and an apartment in the Upper East Side. The latter property is close to Augie's school.

In 2010 Evangelista ended a relationship with another billionaire, the co-founder of the Hard Rock Café, Peter Morton. It was soon after that she began her case against Pinault, to which he responded to by paying an undisclosed amount of money in child support. Pinault also began financing Augie's health care and education.

The identity of Augie's father was kept private until Evangelista filed court papers in July requesting more money. Additional to the child support, Evangelista is asking for a home for Augie – equal to the one Pinault has created up for Valentina.

The home in trust for Valentina is a $13 million mansion in California.
