Mayor May Lose Position for Domestic Violence Allegations

After a city manager was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in Petersburg, the community wondered whether he would keep his job. When the mayor replied that he would get to keep working for the city, there was a public outcry. Mayor Brian Moore clarified his comments earlier this week to the media. He stated that city manager would remain in office while his case is under investigation. Should he be found guilty of the charges against him, he will be relieved of his position.

Police detained the city manager last week and charged him with misdemeanor battery and assault against his wife. There have been no comments issued by the city manager nor his wife since the incident took place. Are you a victim of domestic violence? If so, you should consider seeking legal counsel from a family law attorney before the abuse becomes severe so you can protect yourself and your family.
