A man in the Stuart, Florida area is reportedly being forced to pay child support under a rarely used law. According to reports, the uncommon law makes evading child support payments a felony when he has the ability to pay. As a result, he has pleaded no contest to the felony charge and must pay $550 per week in support to his two sons. He will end up paying $69,500 in back child support for the next five years. He will also have five years of probation along with needing to complete 25 hours of community service.
