Facebook Helps Police Track Down Domestic Violence Suspect

Police in Miami turned to a social networking site to obtain information about a triple murder that took place last week. A victim's last update to Facebook revealed the suspect, a man now charged with the victim's murder. The victim, 21-year-old O.B., had been in a long-term relationship with the suspect, L.B., 20. Police were able to pull up several accounts where the victim had reported incidents of domestic violence at the hands of the suspect. While this certainly led police in the right direction, her last status update revealed even more information and eventually pinned the blame on L.B.

News sources say that in addition to shooting the mother of his child, L.B. shot and killed their 6-month-old baby and another victim. Additional details about the third victim are being kept from the media at this time. The suspect has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. If you have been a victim of domestic violence, now is the right time to protect yourself by hiring a family lawyer in your area.
