Baseball Player Pleads Not Guilty to Domestic Violence Charges

A well-known baseball player has pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic battery after allegedly striking his wife. The former player was reportedly not present at the arraignment when his attorney entered the not guilty plea. Shortly after the baseball player was arrested last month, he claimed that the case against him would be closed, but the state attorney's office charged the man with one count of domestic battery.

According to the player's wife, the beloved baseball star struck her with an open hand while they were having an argument in their Florida home. She claims that the strike caused her to hit her head against the headboard of their bed and was reportedly able to show injuries consistent with her claims.

Aside from this domestic violence charge, the star has also had trouble with performance enhancing drugs. He retired from baseball earlier this year when he failed his second drug test. As the baseball player goes through this domestic violence dispute, he has been ordered to stay away from his wife.
