Officer Slapped with Restraining Order

A former police officer in Rhineland has been slapped with a restraining order this week by a local judge.

The 61-year-old man, whose identity has not been released to the press, is not allowed to contact the woman he has already been accused of sexually assaulting for four years. This stems from a supposed attack last October when the man was charged with felony charges of sexual assault, intimidating a witness, battery and bail jumping. He has already entered a plea of not guilty, but was charged again when he attempted to contact the victim.

He will return to court on May 16 for his arraignment, and his trial is expected to begin shortly after.
