Man Would Rather got to Jail than Pay Alimony

One man hopes to change alimony laws in West Virginia, and will try to do so by serving a jail sentence rather than pay his ex-wife.

According to court reports the man was given six months in jail when he refused to pay his ex-wife $1,800 per month in alimony. The reason behind his refusal? Two years after their divorce was finalized, the man discovered that the couple's youngest son was not actually his. Yet even though the man is not the biological father, under West Virginia law he is still legally bound to take care of the child financially. Not even the biological father of the child bears any financial responsibility under West Virginia laws.

At this time the ex-wife, nor her attorney Michelle Rusen, are returning any calls regarding the case.

Do you want to fight your alimony payments? If so, you need a family law attorney to work hard on your case.
