Man Arrested for Failure to Pay $60,000 in Child Support

According to a local Nevada newspaper, a 42-year-old man went before a judge last week to discuss the serious debts that he has incurred as he failed to make over $60,000 worth of child support payments.

The man waived his right to a preliminary hearing which would expedite the process considerably and those following the case wonder just how he will come up with the money required to keep himself out of jail.

The suspect was taken into custody on July 14th when Gardnerville police obtained an arrest warrant for his failure to make child support payments.

One local defense attorney believes that the man will try to enter a plea of attempted failure to pay child support. However, since the time he was ordered to make child support in 2002, court documents show a history of non-payments, with payments made infrequently over the years.

If you are owed past due child support and would like to know what your options are to obtain payments for your child or children, speak with a family lawyer in your state who can advise you of legal solutions.
