Oregan Makes Strides with Child Support Collections

Due to its improved efforts at obtaining child support in the state, the Oregon Child Support Program received $945,490 from the federal government. This amount is double what it earned in fiscal year 2008, according to Oregon Attorney General John Kroger.

Each state was given a battery of tests to pass, including a data reliability audit, for which Oregon exceeded all expectations. Not all states fared so well on the exams; three states failed on one measure which increased the amount of money available for other states. Oregon was one state who fared well receiving $573,000 more than it did last year.

According to a press release half of this money will be awarded to the district attorney's offices that handle the child support payments.

If you are having difficulty getting child support from your former spouse or partner, don't spend another day worrying about your finances. Instead, hire a family law attorney now to get the legal help and representation you deserve.
