Sacramento Increases Child Support Collections

Sacramento County is being honored by the California Department of Child Support Services for showing the most improvement in their child support collection agency. Among the largest counties in the state, Sacramento showed higher levels of overall performance for 2010.

The county was successful in collecting $105 million in child support for the fiscal year of 2010 that ended on Sept. 30. This occurred despite the county having fewer employees on state to help with collections. Terrie Porter, a department director for Sacramento County, commented that "As people have lost their jobs during this economic downturn, we've had to work with parents to find other income sources so that they can continue to pay their support obligations." Clearly the county was successful in making this happen for hundreds of families across the county as represented by the $105 million collected for families in need.

If you are having difficulty collecting the child support that has been legally promised to you, do not wait to get a family law attorney involved.
