Rihanna's Lawyer Agree to Change Terms of Restraining Order

Since the singer assaulted Rihanna last year, Chris Brown has worked hard to revamp his negative image. As a result of this personal work a judge has finally downgraded the restraining order demanding that Brown stay at least 50 yards from his ex. He now must remain within 10 yards of the pop singer.

As long as Brown does not assault, threaten, harass or track her movements, Brown can attend many of the same music industry events as Rihanna. The judge overhearing his case, Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg, commended Brown on his success in sticking to court-appointed punishments. She added that she would not have considered downgrading the restraining order if he was unable to complete his domestic violence counseling.

Rihanna's legal team even agreed to the change in the restraining order and had no objections to it in court last week. This new order will remain in effect until August 2014 when his probation is scheduled to end. Brown is also able to see and speak with Rihanna if she wishes to, but the singer is allowed to record any threatening conversations if they occur.

In need of a restraining order?  If so, now is the time to consult with a family law attorney.
