Officer in Domestic Violence Unit Charged with Abuse

In a strange turn of events the officer in charge of the Memphis Domestic Violence unit was charged with aggravated assault after turning a gun on his wife.

Maj. Stanley A. Eason threatened his wife with a gun on Valentine's Day during an argument. He was arrested and booked on the felony charge, as well as having been relieved of duty with pay pending until the investigation has been completed.

According to police documents the wife, Lora Eason, was sitting in a vehicle with another man when her husband approached her with gun drawn. She got out of the vehicle only to have Eason keep his semiautomatic weapon drawn on her. The director of the police department, Larry Godwin, issued a statement that Officer Eason's actions will not go unpunished.

If you have been abused in a domestic relationship, now is the right time to get a family law attorney involved who can protect you from further harm.
