Politician Arrested Over Child Support

A former government representative was arrested last week in Texas for failing to stay current on child support payments.  The man that once participated in local government was put behind bars for not making a single payment over thirty months. In total, he owes $80,000 in child support to his ex-wife. Based on evidence gathered by the county's Domestic Relations Office, a judge granted the arrest warrant.

An attorney that regularly works with the department commented that oftentimes parents just do not take the law seriously. It was surprising, however, that this man decided to completely flaunt his contempt for the law when he had taken part in his community as a representative.

Are you having trouble getting the child support you need and deserve? Take the time to speak with a family law attorney about your troubles. When you have a court order for child support, you can fight to have it enforced.
