Speculation About Royal Wedding and Nuptial Agreement

With the royal wedding just weeks away, there is some speculation as to whether Kate Middleton and Prince William will sign any nuptial agreements

It is not uncommon for royal couples to sign a prenup before their marriage. When there is so much property and wealth already in place before the marriage, it is important to sign an agreement to cut down on the fighting should a divorce occur.

Since more than 50 percent of marriages now end in divorce, prenuptial agreements are not just for the rich and famous anymore. While it may be difficult to discuss a prenup while you are in the blissful stage of planning your wedding, it is an important legal decision that you both must make. It doesn't mean that you don't love one another, but rather that you want to establish a system now should that love fade away.

While formally equated with the wealthy, prenups are now being used by less affluent couples to ensure a more civil divorce should it come to that.  If you'd like to create a prenuptial agreement, it is advised that you hire a family law attorney.
