Rihanna Relaxes Restraining Order

In an attempt to put her past behind her for good, singer Rihanna defended her decision in a court last week to relax the restraining order against ex Chris Brown.

The two had been in a relationship for several years when Brown assaulted Rihanna, later pleading guilty to the resulting charges of felony assault. In addition to pleading guilty and finishing his sentence, Brown was issued a restraining order to stay away from Rihanna. This order stated that Brown must remain within 100 feet of the singer at all times. This prevented Brown from attending several musical performances and reward shows as a result.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Rihanna discussed her decision to have the restraining order relaxed. Putting their difficulties behind them Rihanna said that, "It doesn't mean we're gonna make up, or even talk again. It just means I didn't want to object to the judge ... I just didn't want to make it more difficult for him professionally." The singer has been working hard to put the whole incident behind her, releasing her new single "S&M," and appearing in "Battleship" next year.
