Lawrence Taylor in Court Over Child Support

It is well known that Lawrence Taylor, a former Giants linebacker, has used his fame to increase his bank accounts; now it is up to a judge in Hackensack to determine whether this will affect his current child support payments.

The details of Taylor's bank account became public knowledge when he went before Superior Court Judge Peter Melchionne to discuss his payments. Up until recently, the former athlete has used his fame to amass $1.6 million in savings. Taylor is currently paying $456 a week to the mother of his 12-year-old daughter. However, since his daughter suffers from Chrohn's disease, an inflammatory disease of the intestines, she is asking for more money to provide his daughter with the proper medical attention she needs.

Taylor tried to downplay his wealth by attacking his lawyer's representation in the courtroom. He asked reporters, "Do you think if I had that kind of money that I would have this guy represent me?" Yet Taylor could consider the child support case mild compared to charges levied against him earlier this year. He has already pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a 16-year-old prostitute.

Are you having difficulty obtaining the child support payments promised to you? If so, you need a family law attorney to start working on your case today.
