Mayor Accused of Spousal Abuse Files for Divorce

In New York, a city Mayor from the suburbs stands accused of slamming a door on his wife's hand. Adam Bradley, mayor of White Plains, filed for divorce one month before the incident and is now scheduled to go on trial.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Bradley wrote that he decided to move forward with filing for divorce after, "after exhausting every other recourse." He requested that people respect his privacy at this time.

Bradley also stands accused of throwing hot tea at his wife, Fumiko Bradley. He has been charged with witness tampering and harassment, but pled not guilty to his charges and resisted calls to resign his post as mayor.

He was arrested back in February, just two months into his term.
