Man Gets Jail Time for Failure to Pay Child Support

In Trumbull County, a man who owes $40,000 in delinquent child support payments is going to serving time in prison, say local prosecutors.

On Tuesday, Joseph Kozma was sentenced during the morning hours to six months of jail time at Lorraine Correctional Institution.  According to Assistant Trumbull County Prosecutor Bill Danso, Kozma failed to follow court orders by not making child support payments for his two kids.

Danso added that despite the fact that Kozma is employed, he has failed to financially support his children.  After Kozma is released from prison, he is expected to start paying the money he owes immediately.

Have you fallen behind on your child support payments? If so, you may be facing legal penalties like jail time if you are charged by police.  For this reason, it is to your benefit to hire a family law attorney as soon as possible who can provide you with legal representation.
