Baton Rouge Officers Arrest 12 for Delinquent Child Support

In Baton Rouge, it is reported that a team comprised of multi-agency law enforcement officers arrested 12 people who owed a total of $436,772 in delinquent child support payments.  The arrests occurred on Tuesday night during a warrant roundup.

According to local news sources, 40 police officers from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, the East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office, the Baton Rouge Police Department, the state Department of Support Enforcement Services, the State Police, the state Office of Probation and Parole, and the Baton Rouge City Constable took part in the roundup that led to a dozen arrests.

A spokesperson for the law enforcement team says that one of the parents that was placed under arrest was 52 year old Clyde Maten.  Reports indicate that Maten owed $90,673 in past due child support mayments.  His debt was the highest past-due amount ever encountered by East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Court Judge Kathleen Stewart Richey, who has been serving for 19 years as a judge.

Are you having a difficult time getting child support that you are owed for your children?  If you answered "yes", you should find a family lawyer who can help you obtain past due payments.
