Former Baseball Player Not Paying Child Support

Elijah Dukes, formally of the Tampa Bay Rays, is struggling to explain why he has yet to make child support payments. He reportedly owes his ex-wife NiShea Gilbert about $74,000 in child support and alimony. He has been taken to court on the matter. He also reportedly owes $34,000 to another mother of his child and $35,000 to one more. He has since been arrested, but claims that he has spent all of his baseball money. He also claims to own nothing of value at this time.
