County Buckles Down on Child Support Offenders

The legal system in Cherokee County is buckling down on those who have failed to appear for child support docket this week, ordering bench warrants for the arrest of eight non-custodial parents.

These parents, whose names have been released by the Tahlequah Child Support Services office, are: Matthew Westmoreland, who owes $2,165; Brian Shepard, $11,000; Justin Reed, $8,507; Christopher Murphy, $4,000; Joel Holcomb, $5,277; Ben Boone, $16,410; and Michael Bobbit, $12,432. Once captured, they can be released on cash-only bonds.

If you have information about the whereabouts of these persons you can contact a member of local law enforcement or the local child support office.

Don't wait until your former spouse or partner owes thousands of dollars.  Instead, hire a family law attorney now to get the legal help you need to win the battle against negligent payments.  By working with a family lawyer you can protect both you and your children's best interests.
