Gosselin Divorce to Be Finalized Soon

Several news sources are reporting that the divorce between Jon and Kate Gosselin could be finalized by the end of 2009.  The couple is very well-known for their show "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" on TLC.

It is reported that prior to the divorce arbitration hearing, which took place in Pennsylvania this past Monday, Jon Gosselin offered Kate a bouquet of roses, but she turned them down.  After the hearing, Jon's lawyer, Mark Heller, released a statement.  He said, "Jon impressively put the best interests of his children above all and was extremely appropriate in his approach to the mediation. As a result of that, it came to a successful resolution."

This Monday also marked the ending of the Gosselin's reality show on TLC.  The network aired the reality series' last episode that evening.  Kate Gosselin said that she is saddened that the series has come to an end.  "This is a very bittersweet goodbye for me because the kids are already missing it," she stated in the last show.

The show came to an abrupt halt as the Gosselins moved forward with their divorce.  Due to the many scandals, gossip and media attention, TLC stopped filming the children a few weeks back.   Eventually, the network would like to launch a new show titled "Kate Plus Eight".

This past weekend, the Gosselins met for nearly six hours at a law office in the Philadelphia suburbs to mediate through unresolved marital issues.  One of the big issues discussed was the custody of their eight children and also property distribution.  Jon's lawyer said that the divorce should be finalized before the end of 2009.
