American Bar Association to Host Family Law Convention

ABA.net reports that the American Bar Association will be hosting an annual Family Law discussion and meeting to go over issues such as pre-marital agreements, divorce, and alimony strategies.  The meeting is to take place October 2-5, 2008 in Scottsdale, Arizona.  During the meeting, attendees will gather for comprehensive courses and then also have a chance to speak with other family law professionals from across the country.

According to ABA.net, "During an economic downturn, the divorce rate rises, creating a need for lawyers who understand relevant laws and issues. The upcoming American Bar Association Fall CLE Conference will provide more than 16 hours of programming on divorce and other family law related topics, including current information on alimony strategies, effects of the bankruptcy code on divorce and tax return preparation. These programs are designed for lawyers of all skill levels, serving as a primer for the new practitioner and a refresher for the seasoned professional."

There will be 3 large programs that lawyers can attend, "Understanding the Sweeping Changes to the Bankruptcy Code as it Affects Divorce and Divorce Parties", "Feathering the Nest - Alimony Strategies and Tips" and "The Arts of the Draft: Premarital Agreements".  Each course is designed to give legal professionals the resources, tips and answers they need to effectively handle a vast array of family law cases.
