Connecticut Child Custody Argument Becomes Violent

News sources report that in New Britain, Connecticut two men were recently treated for injuries after they assaulted one another during a child-custody dispute.  Both men allegedly hit one another with a cane and metal pipes during their altercation until police arrived and arrested the men and charged them with assault.

It is reported that 41 year old Luis Alvarado appeared at the home of 45 year old Julio Sanchez.  Alvarado asked to take his 2 year old daughter home with him.  Connecticut police say that, "He wasn't allowed in the house because of his aggressive behavior in the past," and, "He spoke to the baby at the door and was holding her."

It is alleged that Alvarado reached out and punched the child's mother in the head because she would not allow him to take their daughter.  The woman is currently pregnant with Alvarado's second child.  After punching the woman, Alvarado grabbed her belly while they fought and also threw her cell phone.  That is when the woman's brother, Julio Sanchez, intervened.

Both men gave differing stories to the police.  Alvarado claims that he went to leave and that is when Sanchez appeared with a silver baseball bat.  Sanchez, who walks with the assistance of a silver cane, told police that Alvarado struck him with a metal pipe.

At this time, both men have been charged with assault and face sentencing if found guilty.
