Uncontested Divorce
Uncontested Divorce
When spouses agree to divorce one another, and they also agree on the terms of their divorce, it is considered an uncontested divorce. If a divorce is uncontested, it means that the spouses have come to an agreement regarding important issues such as child custody, child support, spousal support, and property distribution. Uncontested divorces tend to save potential divorcees much time and money as the process is less complicated and does not require court intervention. By negotiating their own divorce terms, spouses often have less conflict with one another. Even though spouses agree on divorce terms, it is still in their best interest to retain separate attorneys to ensure that their rights and best interests are protected.
